PARENT VOLUNTEER
PROGRAM

Listed below are some examples of various volunteer opportunities and brief descriptions with point values.  All families are encouraged to obtain a minimum of 60 points per year for two parent families and 30 points for all single parent families.  Points are valid for the current school year only; no points will be carried over.  If you volunteer in the school building during the school day, you must take the Archdiocese Safe Environment Training.  If you have any questions, please contact the office.

FALL FUNDRAISER COMMITTEE

  • 10 points - Chairperson (2)
  • 5 points - Volunteers (as needed)
  • 20 points - Families that meet the fundraising commitment
  • Chairpersons choose the fundraiser for the fall and execute it.  Volunteers may be asked to help as needed.

SPRING FUNDRAISER COMMITTEE

  • 10 points - Chairperson (2)
  • 5 points - Volunteers as needed
  • 20 points - Families that meet the fundraising commitment
  • Chairpersons choose the fundraiser for spring and execute it.  Volunteers may be asked to help as needed.

ALL SAINTS CULTURAL FESTIVAL PARTICIPATION (KALEIDOSCOPE)

  • 10 points - Purchase two (2) tickets and attend or sell
  • 15 points - Chairman
  • 5 points - Volunteer
  • 2 points - Make a donation to the silent auction

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT COMMITTEE

  • 10 points - Chairperson (2)
  • 5 points - Volunteers as needed
  • Chairpersons will plan and execute Back to School Night and get the volunteers as needed.  Volunteering may include setting up, cleaning, greeting, etc.

USED UNIFORM SALES COMMITTEE

  • 5 points - Chairperson (1)
  • 5 points - Volunteers as needed
  • Chairperson will help organize our used uniforms and sell at Back to School Night.

NEW UNIFORM AND SPIRIT SHIRT SALES COMMITTEE

  • 10 points - Chairperson (1)
  • 5 points - Volunteers as needed
  • Chairpersons will order, sell and distribute burgundy uniform shirts and spirit t-shirts and sweatshirts.  Home & School will set the prices.

CIRCLE OF FRIENDS VOLUNTEER
3:15 to 4:30 p.m. every other Friday

  • 10 points - FULL YEAR COMMITMENT
  • These parents help lead and organize an after school Bible youth group

HOME & SCHOOL OFFICERS (click here for more info)
Meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of every month from August to May at 6:30 p.m.

  • 20 points - FULL YEAR COMMITMENT
    • President & president elect - The time commitment varies with the events going on during the months, helping to organize event corrdinators and communicating with the secretary about items for the agenda
    • Secretary - recording the minutes at each meeting (1 to 1 1/2 hours) and typing the minute and the agenda for the next meeting
    • Treasurer - collects, deposits, dispenses funds for the Home & School when necessary and submits a monthly statement for the meetings
  • These parents hold meetings and do great things for the school and faculty

ROOM PARENTS

  • 3 points - Per holiday party or requested task
  • These parents will assist the teacher with holiday parties and tasks per request of the teacher.

ONGOING FUNDRAISER EFFORTS CORRDINATORS

  • 10 points - FULL YEAR COMMITMENT
  • These coordinators collect, organize and submit the following:
    • Boxtops for Education
    • Our Family Labels
    • Hy-Vee Receipts
    • Campbell's Labels

SPORTS CLUB OFFICERS AND COACHES

  • 25 points - Sports Club Officers - Help with coordination of teams and sporting events for All Saints Catholic School students and CCD students - Schedule and run the gym during the different seasons (volleyball, basketball).
  • 20 points - Per sport coached - run practices, distribute and collect uniforms from players, attend and coach when there are games during the season.

HOME & SCHOOL FUNCTION/EVENT COORDINATORS

  • 10 points - Function/Event Coordinators
  • 5 points - Volunteers as needed
  • Coordinators organize, plan and execute events per request.  Volunteers help with events as needed.
    • Ice Cream Social Coordinator - This event is held on a Friday evening; the date for this event is flexible.
    • Movie Night Committee - This event is held on a Friday evening; the date for this event is flexible.
    • First Communion Breakfast Coordinator - Coordinate with kitchen manager, 2nd grade teacher, school office and volunteers to prepare invitations.  The school will send them out.  Volunteers will be needed for set-up/clean-up for the Parent & 1st Communicant breakfast on the Monday following 1st Communion.  2nd grade parents should not coordinate this event.
    • Confirmation Coordinator - Order refreshments for the reception after Confirmation.  They will need to setup, serve and clean up the reception immediately following Confirmation.  8th grade parents should not coordinate this event.
    • Scholastic Book Fair Coordinator - The coordinator has contact with Scholastic Book Club and the teacher that has been assigned this duty.  The coordinator will run the annual book fair and organize volunteers to help with setup, sales, and cleanup.  This event is held in November, just before Thanksgiving Break and Parent/Teacher Conferences.  This event usually runs from the Thursday before conferences through the day of conferences.  It is also opened to the parishoners of St. Frances Cabrini after the Saturday evening and Sunday morning masses.
    • Christmas Gifts Coordinator - Prepares and distributes the Home & School Christmas gifts for the students and the teachers.  This is done before Christmas break.
    • 8th Grade Graduation Coordinator - Organizes the 8th Grade Graduation reception that is sponsored by Home & School.  The coordinator will order the refreshments and the gift for the graduates from the Home & School.  The details are voted on during the Home & School meetings and this event should not be coordinated by an 8th grade parent.
    • Field Day Lunch Coordinator - Helps with the preparation and distribution of lunches on Field Day in May.  Coordinate with the school kitchen manager.
    • Teacher Appreciation Lunch Coordinator - Organizes volunteers to help supervise students over the lunch hours on this day, so teachers can leave the building for an extended lunch break.  Usually requires at least six to eight volunteers.

FIELD TRIP AIDES

  • 5 points - These parents will assist with supervision on field trips.

FIELD DAY AIDES

  • 5 points - These parents will assist with supervision during activities on Field Day.

HEALTH SCREENING AIDES

  • 5 points - These parents will assist the nurse with health screening.  The health screening is usually done in February.  This usually requires most of the morning.  The amount of time required will depend on the number of volunteers.

VARIOUS DAILY SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS

  • 1 point per hour assistance
    • Playground Aides - 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
    • Breakfast Aides - 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
    • Lunchroom Aides - 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
    • Library Aides - This does not have a set time frame.  Librarian will contact volunteers to make arrangements.
    • Office Aides - This is an AS NEEDED option.  Volunteer may be called when the office needs help during the school day.
    • Classroom Aides - This is an AS NEEDED option.  Volunteer may be asked to help out during the school day, when they are available to assist the teacher in the classroom.
  • These parents will assist with various duties per request.

DONATED GOODS POINTS

  • 1 point - Per baked good donated WHEN NEEDED
  • 1 point - Per item of $5.00 value WHEN NEEDED

There may be other opportunities that come up during the school year.  In order to be fair, we will maintain the one point per hour of assistance donated to the school.  However, there may be some exceptions (for example, wiring the building, painting, specialized building maintenance, etc) that the administration may allow more points per hour.  In these instances, it will be up to the administration to determine how many points will be assigned for these services.
